About Anthony Granberry

ThD, LPC, LMFT

Anthony is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). He received his clinical training at the Care and Counseling Center of Georgia (CCCG), formerly the Georgia Association of Pastoral Care. He has over 25 years of counseling experience in professional settings as well as the parish.

Anthony began his professional counseling career in 1986 with Clarke County (GA) Mental Health Substance Abuse. He later worked in higher education administration and healthcare management. In 1999 he began studying and training to become a pastoral counselor and psychotherapist at Emory University. In 2005, he joined the CCCG staff full-time after serving as Clinical Program Director at St. Jude’s Recovery Center in Atlanta.

Anthony’s graduate education includes a Doctorate degree in pastoral counseling* and a Masters of Theological Studies degree, both from Emory University (Atlanta, GA). He also holds Masters degrees in Psychology and Religion, respectively, from the University of Georgia (Athens, GA).

*DOCTOR OF THEOLOGY IN PASTORAL COUNSELING (Th.D): The purpose of the degree of Doctor of Theology in Pastoral Counseling is to prepare persons for the specialized ministry of pastoral counseling at the doctoral level of competence by combining rigorous academic and theological work with supervised clinical practice.  The degree is equivalent to the Ph.D.  and is designed for those whose interest in pastoral counseling is primarily professional.
